On my whiteboard (we each have one on our door, it was like that when I got here), a couple nights ago, before I went to sleep, I wrote "Good night, Neverland." Because, well, I felt like I was in Neverland, like there should be hammocks draped across the living room, and cannonfire off in the bay. The next morning I woke up and checked the board, it said "Good night, tinkerbelle" and Brit had drawn a drymarker fairy. Later that day Andrew and I went through the "behind the scenes" vids in Soul Reaver II, a crazy vampire game. We were awestruck as a bio finally placed the voice we'd been obsessing over. One of the voices was the guy who did Megabyte from "Reboot." All the rest are professional voice actors, it's kind of nuts. I gave Andrew H my pyramid puzzle (two wooden blocks of strange shape), and he rolled them around in his hands and stared at them.
"Watch how he does this," I heard a voice say. "How would you do it?"
"I'd mash them together and brute force it," I grinned.
"Yeah," Oplinger nodded. "Me too."
That's a good way to describe these people, I've decided. Andrew O is the type to say "Look at this, watch he thinks this through." Andrew Harvey's the type to sit down and stare at the peices, roll them around, spend minutes getting a feel for the problem before attempting the solution. Brit's the type of girl to pad down the hall on the phone with her boyfriend and wave hello to you, grin excitedly at small stuff, give good night hugs to the people she sees every day, and draw fairies on people's whiteboards.
We have a porch. I'm not sure if I ever mentioned that. Not unlike Elena's, it presents an unobstructed view of a parking lot. Cemented, with benches perpendicular to the wall, so you can sit down, put your legs up, and lean back.
I've been living here since monday, but it doesn't feel like my house yet, despite all my unpacking and shuffling of stuffs. It feels like the most badass sleepover of all time. It's still only a sleepover, I've yet to spend a day here, is the problem. OS is coming to a close. Project due monday (final one, thank god), final exam wednesday, than a week and a half until fall semester. Might travel, might plunk on the couch and unleash some PS2 fury. Might just have a movie marathon.
Ah, manana.
