About a week ago, I was eating breakfast with Britanny, at this little mom-and-pop (just Pop, really) called Duke's Coffee Pot. It's achieved verb status amongst patrons, eating there is known as "Coffeepotting". At some point I was attempting to explain to her the exact way in which she is wonderful, and came across the analogy that she was like the little shaded area of a Ven Diagram of puppies and Nintendo. Utterly adorable, yet geekily awesome. 4 days later, she IM'd me from her new screen name, a combination of puppies and nintendo.
There aren't words for my pride.
Saw Napoleon Dynaminte, finally. It's sad, really, I wish someone had told me going in that I'd never be able to see it again for the first time. The skit at the election speeches, that was priceless beyond all measure. I've never laughed so hard for such an extended period of time in a movie theater before.
Brilliance. Dry, casual, subdued, hysterical brilliance.
Earlier today, Andrew looked on in curiosity as I attempted to diagram a nondeterministic finite automaton on my whiteboard. For those of you who care (read, nobody), the book had a machine which accept the language (aUab)* using 8 states, but claimed it could be done in 2.
I found those two.
We discussed our degree of geekhood, and, well, it was good.
I love me some 4 day weekend.
