I haven't been updating much since I got into Santa Barbara. Hardly at all, but with good reason.
I spend 2/3 of my time crashed out on one of several couches in Billy and Jerome's house, watching TV or DVD's, or messing around on their computer. I eat when I remember that I haven't eaten that day. I sleep because I'm always tired, a side effect of sleeping too much.
It's lethargy. It's extreme, casual, happy, gorgeous lethargy, without depression or anxiety, without frustration or responsibility or half a thought to the upcoming semester, a mere 6 days away. Because, you see, this is my time, my 3 week hiatus. I'm digging it so hardcore there aren't even words for it.
I mean, sure, there's other stuff besides TV and sleep. The other day I got high with a friend of Jerome's, and we watched "Harold and Kumar Go to Whitecastle". A few hours later we were at some girl's house playing Donkey Konga, and I beat drumps and clapped maniacally, rhythmically, as though in search of groove.
Tomorrow (today?) is the 7th, making me officially 23. Billy hit the (x = 2; return (x*10).concatonate(x+1);) yesterday. Dave leaves us behind a day from now. As birthday presents go, I'm not allowed to get either of them what I want to, because Billy's getting it for us, though it won't be released until mid February. But tomorrow I get something even better. Nikki's coming to visit.
I was talking to her on the phone today about it.
"I've got a dorky grin on my face, you know. A big, stupid looking... one sec, lemme find a mirror. Yup, stupid looking dorky grin on my face." Which amused her and all. Then I went back to napping on their couch.
Vacation. It's so choice. We're going bowling tomorrow, the only slightly sad note, because just thinking about combining beer and bowling, mulling around the parking lot smoking... It makes me miss Dave.
